All American Youth Pilgrimage 2024

The bishops of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church (UGCC) in the United States are extending an invitation to the All-American Youth Pilgrimage. This gathering, which will take place from June 13th to 16th, 2024, marks the sixth occurrence of Ukrainian youth coming together for a spiritual journey in Parma, Ohio, USA.

In collaboration with the Patriarchal Commission for Youth Affairs of the UGCC, this year’s event focuses on the theme of forgiveness, inspired by the words of Patriarch Josyf Slipyi: “To gather those who are scattered.” The occasion also commemorates the 40th anniversary of the passing of Bishop Josyf.

Preparations for this event, which has been in the works for over four months, include discussions between youth leaders from four eparchies of the Philadelphia Metropolis of the UGCC and their bishops.

Bishop Bohdan Danylo, the bishop of the Eparchy of St. Josaphat in Parma, emphasized the importance of Ukrainian youth joining in large numbers, along with their parish priests and bishops, to participate in this significant event for the Ukrainian Church, with the intention of fostering peace and supporting the Ukrainian State.

The character of this Pilgrimage sets it apart from similar gatherings organized in pilgrimage centers in Ukraine. Olenka Korendiy, chair of the organizing committee, highlights its unique focus on uniting young people from various Ukrainian settlements in America to create a sense of comfort, unity, and harmony with God.

Єпископи УГКЦ у США запрошують на Всеамериканську Молодіжну Прощу.   Вже шостий раз 13-16 червня 2024 р. українська молодь зустрінеться на спільній духовно-молитовній мандрівці у м. Парма, штат Огайо, США. У співпраці з Патріаршою Комісією у Справах Молоді УГКЦ, цьогоріч вдалося виокремити лейтмотив Прощі та усіх молодіжних ініціатив. Ним стали слова Патріарха Йосифа Сліпого, закарбовані на стінах Українського Католицького Університету в Римі, – «Зібрати в розсіянні сущих». Приурочено захід до 40-ї річниці відходу до вічності владики Йосифа. Зважаючи на масштаби події, організація триває вже понад 4 місяці.  Так і цими днями молодіжні лідери 4-ох єпархій Філадельфійської Митрополії УГКЦ зустрілися зі своїми єпископами, щоб обговорити прийдешні події та плани щодо їх реалізації. «Від імені наших владик у США, запрошуємо українську молодь долучитися чисельно разом зі своїми парафіяльними священниками та єпископами до цієї події в історії Української Церкви. З наміренням за мир і перемогу Української Держави», – наголосив правлячий Архиєрей Пармської Єпархії св.
